First known as the Houston Oilers, The Tennessee Titans started in 1960 as a charter member of the AFL owned by Bud Adams. The oiler made it in three American Football League championships led by All-America running back Bill Cannon. The oilers won the first AFL championship against the Chargers in 1960, and in 1961, they played the longest Championship game ever played against the Texans. In 1967, the oilers again won the AFL championship Eastern division.

Led by quarterback Pete Beathard and Hoyle Granger, a new Houston powerhouse was born, and Bob Talamini and Ken Houston along with Jim Norton took over the defense and made it the toughest in the league. After drafting Campbell in 1978, the Houston Oilers appeared in won consecutive AFC championship.

Last season the Titans finished third in the AFC South division with a record of 10-6. <p>Quarterback Vince Young will not be suspended for his role in an altercation at a Dallas-area strip club last month, Commissioner Roger Goodell said.</p> <p>Young was issued a citation for a misdemeanor assault for an altercation at a strip club June 20 but was not arrested.</p> <p>"And at this stage, based on the facts that we have, I see no reason for any kind of disciplinary action. I did have a good conversation with Vince, however, about his responsibility as an NFL player. He needs to avoid putting himself in that kind of position," Goodell said.</p> <p>The Titans' are due to report to training camp Friday. </p><p><b>&bull;&nbsp;</b>Thankfully for the Titans, the Chris Johnson contract saga and potential holdout drama came to an end.
