First known as the Houston Oilers, The Tennessee Titans started in 1960 as a charter member of the AFL owned by Bud Adams. The oiler made it in three American Football League championships led by All-America running back Bill Cannon. The oilers won the first AFL championship against the Chargers in 1960, and in 1961, they played the longest Championship game ever played against the Texans. In 1967, the oilers again won the AFL championship Eastern division.

Led by quarterback Pete Beathard and Hoyle Granger, a new Houston powerhouse was born, and Bob Talamini and Ken Houston along with Jim Norton took over the defense and made it the toughest in the league. After drafting Campbell in 1978, the Houston Oilers appeared in won consecutive AFC championship.

Last season the Titans finished third in the AFC South division with a record of 10-6. The brilliance of Quarterback Vince Young will definitely continue but needs to step up a notch for the Titans to contend on the AFC South. Tennessee Titans will surely fire up all the cylinders to make it to Super Bowl. Albert Haynesworth is working out to anchor the Titans defense, as LenDale White will still be a true running threat on the offensive line.

Titans displayed the toughest defense in the league and Steve McNair alone shouldered the offense, the team is struggling since he left. Fans were surprised when the Titans gained a playoff berth and finished with 10-6 record last season. Can the replacement quarterback Vince Young pick it up where McNair left off?
